About the Role
The role involves designing, planning, executing, and coordinating all telecom activities, including design, installation, testing, commissioning, data processing, and electronic engineering. This hybrid position requires the employee to live within commuting distance of the Pittsburgh office. • Design, develop, and oversee telecom technology from preliminary to detailed and installation phases. • Manage integration of telecoms with signaling, rolling stock, interlocking, and other electronic subsystems. • Ensure all design activities meet contractual obligations, company standards, and project schedules. • Conduct RAM (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability) analysis to optimize system performance. • Coordinate cross‑functional teams, monitor progress, and resolve technical challenges. • Optimize engineering processes for successful testing and commissioning of telecom systems. • Review verification and validation documentation to confirm compliance with V&V plans. • Provide troubleshooting guidance and verify system designs before final operation. • Research emerging technologies, assess their impact, and incorporate innovations into designs. • Configure, program, and install hardware equipment ensuring seamless system integration. • Evaluate design specifications, test functionality, and adjust solutions for infrastructure compatibility. • Oversee installation, updates, and maintenance of production technologies for optimal reliability. • Validate design integration, system compliance, and regulatory requirements within the railway sector. • Develop and maintain technical documentation meeting quality, regulatory, and company standards.
