About the Role

The Lead Finance Analyst for the xPL Offsite division in Huntsville, AL, oversees all fiscal management and financial administration aspects of the project. Reporting to the Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager, the role ensures that the project manager, superintendent, and engineer follow Turner’s financial policies and procedures. It also communicates any potential profitability concerns or risks to management. Key responsibilities include establishing and enforcing client billing and accounts‑receivable procedures, auditing client billing and project ledgers for contract compliance, GAAP, and company policy, and managing both vendor and subcontractor accounts payable, including lien waivers and insurance requirements. The analyst directs month‑end close activities, updates project assets and rentals for insurance purposes, and leads the financial closeout to verify final contract amounts and documentation. Additional duties involve cash‑position reporting, responding to internal and external audit requests, and supporting payroll functions for trade employees. • Establish and enforce client billing and accounts‑receivable procedures. • Audit client billing and project ledgers for contract compliance and GAAP. • Manage vendor accounts payable and ensure proper sales/use tax accounting. • Process subcontractor invoices, verify lien waivers, and confirm insurance coverage. • Oversee month‑end close, posting or accruing client bills and project costs. • Update project asset and rental records for insurance documentation. • Lead project financial closeout, confirming final contract amounts and documentation. • Report cash position, net assets, liabilities, and unfunded work; flag risks. • Respond to internal and external audit requests promptly. • Organize, review, and submit weekly trade employee timesheets to payroll. • Address employee inquiries on timesheets, paychecks, and pay statements. • Process trade employee expenses, per diem requests, and payroll transfer requests. • Support payroll process improvements and assist the Trades Manager and HR as needed.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and have at least three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent mix of education and training. They need strong knowledge of GAAP, the ability to analyze contract terms for profitability and risk, and excellent organizational and detail‑orientation skills. Proficiency with financial systems, Microsoft Excel, and Word is required, as is the ability to work independently, exercise judgment, and communicate professionally. Leadership, teamwork, and integrity are essential personal attributes. The role requires physical ability to navigate construction sites, including climbing stairs and ladders, handling tools, and occasional lifting of heavy items.
