About the Role

• Provide onsite medical care to injured or ill teammates and coordinate follow‑up care with external healthcare facilities and workers‑compensation claims. • Lead the Emergency Response Team (ERT) rescue program. • Conduct CPR and First Aid training sessions. • Administer the plant’s drug and alcohol testing program. • Oversee occupational medical programs, including audiograms and vision testing. • Qualify employees for respirator use through pulmonary function and fit testing. • Manage the industrial hygiene program. • Maintain accurate employee health records. • Monitor inventory of health and safety supplies and equipment. • Organize, coordinate, and schedule plant‑wide events and onsite clinics.

What You Bring

The Occupational Health Coordinator role is a professional position with significant autonomy and responsibility. It requires after‑hours support, willingness to travel, and a commitment to further education in advanced emergency medical and OSHA training. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must consistently uphold Nucor’s safety policies and standards. Minimum qualifications include a current nationally registered or Texas‑certified EMS/Paramedic certification or an active Texas nursing license, and at least three years of EMS/Paramedic or nursing experience. Applicants may not have immediate family members employed by Nucor Steel Texas. Preferred qualifications feature occupational health experience, general knowledge of workers‑compensation, OSHA, ADA, and FMLA regulations, and a Community Paramedic certification.
