About the Role

The Combination Welder is responsible for welding, fabricating, and supporting pipe installation projects, collaborating with pipe fitters to ensure the piping system is completed efficiently. The role involves planning layouts, selecting equipment, preparing and aligning components, and performing welding operations using multiple techniques while adhering to safety standards. • Perform stick and TIG welding on pipe • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical manuals • Fabricate, cut, align, and assemble metal components in various body positions • Use bolts, clamps, and tack‑welds to secure parts before welding • Operate arc, gas‑shielded arc, submerged‑arc, and other welding equipment • Identify required equipment, safety risks, and welding procedures for each job • Perform weld repairs and assist pipe fitters with installation and fabrication

What You Bring

Candidates must possess advanced welding skills, appropriate certifications, and several years of experience working with industrial pipe of various sizes and materials. Physical demands include extensive standing, walking, lifting, and work at heights, requiring the use of personal protective equipment and compliance with fall protection. • Weld in 2G, 4G, and 6G positions • Current Zachry welding certification or pass a weld test • Minimum 4 years of experience welding industrial‑size pipe (schedules 40, 80, 160) • Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and chrome pipe • Reliable transportation and ability to work at heights • Meet physical demands including standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lb, and using PPE such as hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection, respirators, safety vest, gloves, and leather boots
