About the Role

The Business Development Executive will lead growth for CGS’s Army Programs account, developing pipeline and capture success across high‑priority areas such as IT/Technical Services, Command and Control, and Training, Education, and Professional Services. The role requires a seasoned Army business development leader with an established network across key Army acquisition and operational organizations, and will work closely with the Director of Business Development and capture teams to shape strategy and win new business. • Develop and execute a three‑year Army account growth strategy aligned with CGS’s enterprise objectives. • Identify, qualify, and manage a robust pipeline of Army opportunities, meeting or exceeding growth targets. • Build and maintain senior‑level relationships with Army leadership, program managers, contracting officials, and acquisition stakeholders. • Engage customers to understand mission priorities, acquisition strategies, and emerging requirements. • Partner with capture and proposal teams to shape opportunities and create winning capture strategies. • Represent CGS at Army‑focused industry events, customer engagements, and conferences. • Monitor Army budgets, acquisition trends, and competitive positioning to uncover new growth opportunities. • Provide regular pipeline, forecast, and account performance updates to the Director of Business Development. • Support development of customer‑focused marketing materials and presentations. • Participate in post‑award and post‑loss debriefs to improve future capture performance. • Maintain knowledge of Army procurement policies, contract vehicles, and acquisition processes.

What You Bring

The position is remote but requires the employee to reside within a one‑hour drive of Aberdeen Proving Grounds (APG) or the National Capital Region (NCR). Travel up to 25 % may be required to meet customers and attend industry events. • Meet mandatory requirements: 10+ years supporting U.S. Army commands, 2+ years business development or capture management for Army IT/technical programs, bachelor's degree, and proven success in Army pursuits. • Possess established relationships across Army acquisition, contracting, and operational communities. • Preferred qualifications include active membership in AUSA/AFCEA/NDIA, IT certifications (CompTIA, CISSO, ISA), Master's degree, and Shipley certification. • Ability to work remotely within one hour of APG or NCR and travel up to 25 % of the time. • Physical requirements: prolonged sitting, occasional lifting up to 20 lb, and regular typing and document handling.
