About the Role

Key duties include predictive maintenance and calibration testing on major plant apparatus, writing reports, and maintaining logs, as well as providing technical support to operations, maintenance staff, and engineering through procedure and specification reviews. The position is accountable for accurate, complete, and timely work, ensuring proper configuration management and adherence to design criteria, practices, procedures, and codes. Additional responsibilities may involve emergency response, departmental coverage, call‑outs, and support of outage activities outside the department. • Perform predictive maintenance and calibration testing on major plant equipment. • Write detailed reports and maintain logs for all testing activities. • Provide technical support and review procedures/specifications for operations and engineering teams. • Develop, manage, and implement condition‑based maintenance programs. • Ensure work complies with configuration management, design criteria, standards, and industry codes. • Respond to emergencies, cover departmental duties, and support outage activities as needed.

What You Bring

The role performs advanced technical and engineering problem solving to support plant operations, coordinating with station engineering to develop and execute condition‑based maintenance programs. It requires extensive knowledge of functional disciplines, industry codes, and regulations, and involves technologies such as generator, voltage regulator, motor, Doble, protective relay testing, calibration, and breaker maintenance. Candidates must have an associate’s degree in engineering technology, electronics, or a related field, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 18 months of trade or technical training in power plant technology. Demonstrated leadership, safety awareness, effective communication, and the ability to work in a power‑plant environment—including climbing, walking long distances, standing for extended periods, and lifting up to 50 lb—are required. The role demands up to 80 % travel and must meet access and medical requirements appropriate to the position. Preferred experience includes transformer and motor testing as well as relay calibration. Candidates with this background are positioned to excel in the technical responsibilities of the role. • Travel up to 80 % of the time for site assignments. • Required qualifications: associate’s degree (or high school/GED with 18 months training), leadership and safety focus, strong communication, ability to lift 50 lb and work in plant environment. • Preferred qualifications: experience with transformer and motor testing, relay calibration.
