About the Role
The role serves as the Product Engineering focal point for the static seal product line, operating on‑site at the Beltsville, MD factory and working with global, cross‑functional teams to drive new‑product development, cost‑reduction, and manufacturing modernization. The engineer will lead design and execution of new static seal products, provide technical support to internal departments, suppliers and customers, verify drawings and calculations, collaborate on cost‑trade studies, and manage corrective‑action initiatives while fostering strong relationships with stakeholders. • Design, develop, and launch new static seal products. • Support existing customers and implement corrective actions. • Verify drawings, calculations, dimensions, and tolerances for compliance. • Conduct cost‑trade analyses and optimize designs with suppliers and project teams. • Apply statistical and analytical tools (e.g., FMEA, 8D) to resolve systemic issues. • Generate innovative concepts and document potential patent applications. • Prepare cost estimates, schedules, specifications, and technical reports. • Collaborate with global engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to meet plant metrics. • Provide technical support for production issues and prototype hardware development. • Ensure adherence to aerospace standards (ISO 9001, AS9100) and ITAR regulations.

What You Bring
The position requires a bachelor’s (or advanced) degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Manufacturing Engineering, experience with metal manufacturing, GD&T, 3‑D CAD (CATIA V5/Creo), FEA, and knowledge of aerospace quality standards; candidates must be U.S. persons per ITAR, reside within 50 mi of Beltsville (with military exceptions), and be able to work without sponsorship. • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering; advanced degree preferred. • Experience with metal manufacturing processes and GD&T. • Proficiency in 3‑D CAD (CATIA V5 or Creo) and finite element analysis. • Knowledge of design evaluation methods such as reliability analysis, tolerance stacks, and FMEA. • Familiarity with aerospace product lifecycle, regulations, and quality systems. • Ability to use Microsoft Office, PDM, and continuous‑improvement tools (Kaizen, DFSS). • U.S. person status per ITAR and residence within 50 mi of Beltsville (military exemptions apply). • Strong organizational, multitasking, and engineering judgment skills.
