About the Role
The role involves conducting safety checks before starting work at client sites, cleaning, lubricating, and testing overspeed governors, and verifying static balancing of units under senior guidance. Additional tasks include lubricating the Safety Action Mechanism, installing door skates and locks, performing unit safety inspections, and checking all electrical functions such as car doors, buttons, and intercoms. The technician escalates any concerns through NCRs, sets controller contact parameters, adjusts acceleration and deceleration to meet Otis standards, inspects motor pits and escalator steps, and conducts thorough testing to ensure no obstructions. • Conduct safety checks at client sites before initiating work. • Clean, lubricate, and test the overspeed governor. • Verify and adjust static balancing of units under senior guidance. • Lubricate and test the Safety Action Mechanism per procedures. • Install door skates, set door locks, and ensure proper bolt tightness at each landing. • Perform unit safety inspections, checking for interference among moving parts, cabin, and counterweights. • Test all electrical operations including car doors, buttons, and intercom systems. • Escalate concerns via NCRs, reporting process infractions and safety issues to the supervisor. • Set controller contact parameters and place the lift into normal operation. • Adjust acceleration, deceleration, and ride quality to meet Otis recommended standards. • Inspect motor pits and escalator steps for debris and clean as required. • Conduct full‑cycle motor winding tests after removing comb plates to detect obstructions. • Prepare installation inspection, field test data, safety check, and Otis safety audit reports.
