About the Role

• Supervise overall financial health of projects • Develop and maintain project financial and equipment projections • Allocate project estimates into the financial system, determine cost codes, approve invoices • Provide financials and billings to Accounting, create monthly owner billings • Handle subcontracts and suppliers, manage budget and selections • Lead Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, provide job assignments and training • Function as main point of contact with owner and on-site representative • Resolve site concerns, handle change orders, and obtain necessary approvals • Maintain schedule and budget, manage quality, risk, safety, and compliance

What You Bring

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager I or II to lead one large or multiple solar projects, overseeing project quality, timeliness, safety, and mentoring the team. The role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment, and demands flexibility, inventiveness, dedication, efficiency, integrity, and confidentiality. The position is open to any location within the continental United States and requires 100% travel, with assignments changing as projects are completed. Mortenson hires for a career rather than a single project, and compensation is determined by experience, location, and internal equity, with opportunities at both Level 1 and Level 2. Candidates should have self‑perform experience, preferably in utility‑scale solar, and be capable of managing multiple large, complex projects. Required skills include active listening, effective communication, a basic understanding of construction law, intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office and related web applications, a positive professional attitude, strong customer service, and a valid driver’s license. Senior Project Manager I requires a bachelor’s degree in a related engineering or construction field and a minimum of eight years of construction or project management experience, with a base pay range of $144,300 – $216,500. Senior Project Manager II requires the same degree plus at least ten years of experience, with a base pay range of $158,900 – $238,400, and higher ranges in select office locations. • Self-perform experience • Utility scale solar experience preferred • Ability to fulfill responsibilities for multiple, large complex projects • Active listening skills and effective communication, openness to diverse input and feedback • Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices • Intermediate level Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills • Positive professional attitude and strong customer service skills • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies • Current driver’s license
