Job Highlights
About the Role
The Laborer/Groundman provides general labor for aerial and underground construction projects, handling tasks such as trench digging, material unloading, fiber‑blowing, conduit placement, and equipment operation. They also assist with map reading, troubleshooting RF and fiber issues, and performing site maintenance while adhering to safety procedures. • Dig trenches, unload materials, and prepare job sites using hand tools. • Perform fiber‑blowing operations and assist with fiber optic cable installation. • Pull and place conduit as directed by foreman or supervisor. • Read maps and schematics to guide construction activities. • Operate and maintain trucks, line trucks, bucket trucks, and other equipment. • Tow flat‑bed trailers and move materials or vehicles as needed. • Conduct aerial and underground work, including pole climbing and equipment handling. • Troubleshoot and repair RF and fiber lines and related equipment. • Perform site cleanup, vehicle washing, and landscaping maintenance. • Follow NESC safety guidelines and use appropriate personal protective equipment.

What You Bring
Candidates must prioritize safety, demonstrate high‑quality workmanship, and enjoy hands‑on problem solving. Required credentials include a valid driver’s license with a clean record, ability to lift 70 lb, climbing certification or experience, and knowledge of RF and fiber construction, NESC guidelines, and flagger certification. • Hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. • Able to lift and carry up to 70 lb. • Possess climbing certification or related experience. • Have practical experience in overhead RF and fiber construction. • Knowledge of network architecture, design schematics, and bill of materials. • Flagger certified for field work as needed. • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
