About the Role

The Project Engineer supports field activities and works with the Project Manager on project administration for small to large projects. Duties include managing job transition, cost and schedule, constructability, quality, safety, procurement, contract management, and regulatory compliance. • Generate and obtain approvals for monthly billing, earned values, and budget updates. • Develop and manage project schedules for small to mid‑sized projects. • Analyze job cost summaries, targets, and goals; advise the Project Manager. • Alert Superintendent and Project Manager to resource and crew impacts. • Estimate change orders and coordinate with pre‑construction on bids. • Lead job transition, procurement planning, material take‑offs, and RFP processes. • Prepare purchase orders, major purchase orders, and field procurement documents. • Compile monthly financial reports and participate in project financial reviews. • Approve and code project invoices with the Project Manager. • Produce technical records such as constructability reports, RFIs, inspection logs, and deviation reports. • Coordinate with Superintendent, Field Engineer, and Line/Grade to generate as‑built records. • Manage work package closure, punch lists, turnover, and pre/post‑pour checklists. • Document potential contract changes, disputes, and claims. • Lead LEAN/SQP committee and identify improvement opportunities. • Ensure subcontractor compliance with contract terms, prevailing‑wage, and MBE/SBE requirements. • Interface with Safety and Risk Management for injury reporting and case management. • Follow recruitment and hiring guidelines; conduct new‑hire orientation and E‑Verify. • Track and complete training requirements for project staff. • Read, interpret, and write technical and business documents and reports. • Apply mathematical concepts and cost accounting to construction scenarios. • Develop construction schedules using the critical‑path method. • Proactively maximize return on investment.
