About the Role
The Warehouse Operator role at Atlas Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries in Birmingham, AL, supports warehouse and distribution operations by picking, packing, and loading steel tube and pipe according to established procedures and quality standards. Under direct supervision, the operator uses standard warehouse equipment to ensure efficient material handling while maintaining a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and quality. • Enforce safe work practices per company policies and regulations • Prepare materials, products, and equipment for distribution and shipment • Process and fulfill customer and internal orders • Pick, pack, and stage orders while verifying accuracy with scanning tools • Load shipments onto flatbed trucks or LTL carriers • Receive, inspect, and process incoming materials, reporting damages when needed • Replenish stock and rotate inventory using reach trucks or forklifts • Operate forklifts, order pickers, reach trucks, and walk‑behind pallet jacks efficiently • Standardize and optimize shipping and receiving procedures to boost accuracy and efficiency

What You Bring
The position requires adherence to safe work practices consistent with company policies and regulatory requirements, as well as reliable, full‑time onsite attendance. Operators are expected to prepare materials for shipment, process orders, load trucks, receive and inspect incoming goods, and keep inventory organized using forklifts, reach trucks, and other equipment. Candidates should have at least two years of warehouse experience—preferably in steel, tubing, or similar industrial settings—and a high school diploma or equivalent, with technical training considered a plus.
