SUE Technician III
Perform subsurface utility locating, vacuum excavation, and field supervision.
Job Highlights
About the Role
• Work with a team to tackle a wide variety of projects. • Read and interpret utility records, as‑built and survey drawings, and highway design plans. • Designate existing utilities using electromagnetic and geophysical technologies. • Collaborate with Project Managers and Discipline Leads on project needs and requirements. • Operate and drive a vacuum excavation truck and perform test holes to expose utilities. • Utilize appropriate maintenance of traffic. • Call “One‑Call” tickets. • Coordinate survey work related to SUE. • Supervise field crew activities. • Train junior crew members. • Represent Colliers Engineering & Design in the field and coordinate with utility companies and clients. • Occasionally travel out of town and work overtime. • Lift heavy equipment up to 80 lbs as needed. • Prioritize safety for self and others.

What You Bring
• Minimum 5 years experience with electromagnetic and geophysical designating technologies. • Experience with vacuum excavation preferred. • Quickly grasp new technologies. • Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software. • Proficient communication and internal collaboration skills. • Enjoy working outdoors in various weather conditions. • Walk long distances of several miles daily. • Maintain good driving skills and a clean driving record. • Read, write, and understand English for job‑related communications.

The hourly rate ranges from $31.50 to $42.75 based on qualifications. The offer includes a pre‑employment drug screen and ongoing participation in random drug and alcohol testing.
