About the Role
The Plant Maintenance Technician monitors and maintains all plant systems and equipment, including balers, conveyor belts, gearboxes, electrical motors, pulleys, shafts, and bearings. The role responds to system failures by taking corrective action, ensuring safe and efficient operation, and generally reports to the Plant Maintenance Manager. The position performs repairs in accordance with WM Safety, Life Critical Rules, and OSHA requirements, conducts preventive maintenance inspections, and diagnoses, repairs, and rebuilds major equipment. The technician maintains the Daily Equipment Inspections backlog, adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules, inspects third‑party repairs, and recommends improvements to production, equipment performance, and product quality while handling emergency breakdowns and working flexible hours. • Perform repairs following WM Safety, Life Critical Rules, and OSHA regulations. • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections, diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment such as balers, conveyors, hydraulic power packs, eddy currents, optical sorters, compressors, and motors. • Maintain Daily Equipment Inspections (DEI) backlog and achieve Standard Repair Times. • Adjust work procedures to meet production schedules and notify Sr. Plant Maintenance Manager of additional or unmanageable work. • Inspect and evaluate the quality of third‑party repairs and rebuilds. • Recommend measures to improve production efficiency, equipment performance, and product quality. • Respond to emergency breakdown service calls and manage multiple priorities with limited supervision. • Work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required. • Keep work area clean and safe, complying with corporate and OSHA standards.

What You Bring
Required qualifications include at least two years of relevant experience, a minimum age of 18, legal eligibility to work in the United States, the ability to meet the physical demands of the job with or without reasonable accommodations, and successful completion of pre‑employment drug screening and physical examination.
