About the Role
The company is hiring a Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to act as the day‑to‑day client interface on a large‑scale, mission‑critical data‑center program. The role is responsible for delivering a value‑added cost‑management service that ensures the project is completed on time, within budget and to the highest standards, with strong governance and commercial rigor. • Develop and maintain detailed cost plans and estimates throughout design and delivery phases. • Produce monthly cost reports, executive summaries, and funding data for stakeholders. • Coordinate cost information from design teams, contractors, subcontractors and vendors for validation and auditing. • Compile built cost records to support benchmarking and continuous improvement. • Lead procurement strategy, review contractor pricing, validate scope and negotiate fair contract prices. • Manage final accounts and ensure timely agreement on settlements. • Own change control process: review, estimate, negotiate and reconcile change orders and post‑contract cost variances. • Support cost risk analysis, scenario planning, contingency management and commitment tracking. • Implement robust cost control systems, including Earned Value Management where applicable. • Integrate cost data with schedule and scope, working closely with project controls teams. • Drive engineering priorities based on cost impact and lead value engineering and cost optimisation initiatives. • Monitor market trends such as escalation, labor availability and material pricing to provide timely insights. • Serve as primary client interface to ensure objectives are met and service excellence delivered. • Prepare and present executive‑level updates and written comments on contractor submissions. • Ensure compliance with internal Business Management Systems and delivery methodologies. • Mentor and coach junior team members to foster a high‑performance culture. • Oversee financial management including margin tracking and monthly fee/resource forecasts. • Perform SOX control responsibilities as required.

What You Bring
The position is based in Dallas or Houston, with an initial remote work period before transitioning to onsite work in the selected Texas location. The role requires travel to New Albany, Ohio approximately one to two times per month. • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or related field. • 5–7+ years of cost management/project controls experience in mission‑critical environments such as data centers. • Prior construction consultancy experience preferred. • Strong understanding of MEP systems, resilience requirements and campus‑scale infrastructure for hyperscale data centers. • Proven expertise in budgeting, financial reporting, cost control systems and Earned Value Management. • Experience developing procurement strategies and managing contractor/vendor commercial contracts. • RICS accreditation or progress toward certification is a plus. • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills. • High analytical ability, problem‑solving skills and attention to detail. • Proficiency with industry‑standard cost management tools and software.
