About the Role
The Associate Director – Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor will lead cost management for a large‑scale, mission‑critical data‑center programme. This client‑facing leadership role requires strategic oversight, stakeholder influence and delivery of accurate cost forecasts, change control, risk analysis and performance reporting while championing Turner & Townsend’s purpose, values and vision. • Lead end‑to‑end cost management across all project phases, aligning scope, budget and schedule. • Develop and maintain detailed cost plans, estimates and forecasts using industry benchmarks. • Manage change control, negotiate change orders and ensure robust commercial governance. • Oversee contractor and subcontractor pricing reviews and advise on procurement strategies. • Integrate cost forecasts with project schedules and milestones in coordination with scheduling teams. • Produce and present monthly cost reports, executive summaries and financial updates to stakeholders. • Serve as primary commercial liaison, maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and vendors. • Conduct cost risk analysis, scenario planning and monitor market trends for escalation and material pricing. • Identify and implement cost‑optimization and value‑engineering opportunities to reduce lifecycle costs. • Set, track and report performance against KPIs and critical success factors for senior leadership. • Manage financial performance using Business Management Systems and ensure adherence to delivery methodologies. • Improve cost‑management processes, templates and tools while capturing lessons learned. • Provide leadership, mentorship and performance management for junior staff, fostering a high‑performance culture. • Act as brand ambassador, develop market understanding, generate pipeline opportunities and support business development. • Participate in proposal and RFP responses and attend networking events to expand market presence.
