About the Role
The role involves interpreting client data, developing care‑delivery models, and producing program documents that meet code requirements and industry standards. You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, present design solutions to clients, and mentor junior staff while supporting sustainability and resilience goals. • Lead medical planning from test‑fits through construction documents and activation. • Facilitate client user‑group and stakeholder meetings to define program needs. • Translate patient volume and utilization data into functional programs and care‑delivery models. • Develop program documents aligned with codes, industry standards, and healthcare planning trends. • Collaborate with designers, architects, consultants, and engineers on drawings and specifications. • Present designs in client meetings and project interviews. • Conduct long‑term facility needs analyses and propose new builds or major renovations. • Mentor junior team members and support their professional growth. • Apply hospital licensing standards and regulatory codes to ensure compliance. • Advance firm‑wide sustainability and resilience goals in project solutions. • Produce and coordinate drawings according to Gensler standards and best practices. • Integrate research methodology into design decisions. • Manage projects to meet defined budget and schedule constraints. • Maintain and grow client relationships through successful delivery.

What You Bring
As a Gensler Medical Planner you will blend creativity, technical expertise, and business acumen to produce functional, beautiful healthcare spaces. Working alongside architects and designers, you will leverage Revit and a collaborative process to take projects from concept through construction. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture and at least ten years of medical planning experience, with strong Revit skills. Preferred qualifications include LEED AP, NCIDQ or an architectural license, advanced knowledge of evidence‑based design, and a deep understanding of healthcare codes and accessibility guidelines. • Possess 10+ years of medical planning experience with strong Revit proficiency. • Hold a Bachelor’s in Interior Design or Architecture; LEED AP and NCIDQ or Architect licensure preferred. • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of evidence‑based design, patient safety, and accessibility guidelines. • Exhibit strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. • Thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
