Assistant Principal/Senior Mechanical Engineer (Treatment Plants)
Mechanical engineer designing wastewater/desalination plant equipment and managing project execution.
Job Highlights
About the Role
• Create equipment layouts, civil outlines, and fabrication skid drawings for wastewater and desalination projects. • Define piping and valve material specifications; calculate pump and blower heads, line sizing, and pipe wall thickness. • Develop and issue RFQs for bought‑out and package items; prepare technical datasheets, bid evaluations, and manufacturing clearances. • Review vendor general arrangements, hydraulic calculations, flow diagrams, isometric and 2D GA drawings, and pipe support details. • Generate mechanical GA drawings, piping MTOs, erection BOMs, and as‑built documentation. • Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs (process, civil, electrical, instrumentation) and liaise with vendors, consultants, and clients for approvals. • Identify, record, and manage design risks, assumptions, health‑safety, and environmental considerations; ensure CDM compliance. • Conduct post‑project reviews and propose improvements to client systems while adhering to company engineering, CAD, and QA procedures.

What You Bring
• Hold a BE or MTech in Mechanical Engineering and be working toward MIMechE/MIET or equivalent professional qualification. • Possess strong knowledge of design processes, engineering principles, and project commercial constraints. • Demonstrate good understanding of health, safety, and environmental systems and procedures. • Experienced with AutoCAD P&ID, OpenPlant PID, SmartPlant P&ID, OpenPlant Modeller, Revit MEP, Navisworks, and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PDF management, and Bentley ProjectWise.
