Job Highlights
About the Role
The Network Operations Tier 2 team member reports to the Manager of Global Network Operations and serves as a technology leader responsible for reliability and security of strategic network platforms such as Cisco/Juniper LAN/WAN, Palo Alto firewalls, Mist and Meraki access points, and F5 load balancers. The role primarily focuses on Equinix’s Wi‑Fi technology while providing secondary support for other platforms as needed, collaborating with Engineering, Architecture, Infosec and AppDev teams. • Monitor network uptime and SLA compliance globally. • Participate in infrastructure projects and provide on‑site network support. • Act as second‑line support for incidents, requests, and problems; triage, troubleshoot, resolve and escalate. • Perform Level‑2 tasks such as configuring switches, routers, and access points, and conduct health checks, upgrades and configuration changes. • Manage vendor relationships and ISP/OEM escalations to support infrastructure. • Lead configuration and use of SolarWinds and other monitoring tools. • Automate network operations processes and maintain documentation and knowledge‑base articles. • Participate in an 8×5 “follow‑the‑sun” model and weekend on‑call rotations.

What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. • Proven Network Operations Tier‑2 experience with a strong Wi‑Fi infrastructure focus. • Hands‑on experience with ServiceNow, ITIL processes, and complex wireless troubleshooting (Meraki, Juniper Mist). • Experience supporting global LAN/WAN infrastructure across OSI layers. • Advanced knowledge of routing and switching protocols (OSPF, BGP, STP, VLAN) and hardware (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, F5). • Proficiency with packet capture tools (Wireshark) and SolarWinds monitoring for large networks. • Understanding of security best practices (PAN firewalls, Cisco ISE, GlobalProtect, SSL, IPsec, 802.1X). • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

Compensation for this Dallas role ranges from $90,000 to $136,000 annually, with eligibility for bonus, equity and other variable components.
