About the Role
The Tower Technician III installs, maintains, and operates a variety of wired, wireless, fiber optic, and microwave equipment, climbs towers and ladders, and assists with tower erection using helicopters, cranes, and gin poles. Responsibilities also include site preparation, material handling, antenna and transmission line installation, and mentoring less‑experienced technicians. • Install, maintain, and operate wired, wireless, fiber optic, and microwave telecommunications equipment. • Climb towers and ladders to perform installations and inspections. • Erect various tower types, including monopoles, self‑support, and guyed towers. • Off‑load material, manage inventory, and prepare/clean work sites. • Assist in tower erection using helicopters, cranes, and gin poles. • Assemble and install antennas for microwave, VHF, UHF, cellular, and FM broadcast. • Install transmission lines, including foam/air dielectric coaxial, hardline, and waveguide. • Perform foundation, grounding, conduit, and related electrical installations. • Mentor less‑experienced technicians on safety and technical procedures. • Follow MasTec Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and industry standards (OSHA, TIA‑10‑48, NATE CTS, ANSI).

What You Bring
Ideal candidates are safety‑oriented, possess at least four years of tower experience, and have a high school diploma. They must be able to read technical prints, follow industry standards such as OSHA and TIA‑10‑48, lift 50 lb, work up to 12 hours, and hold a valid driver’s license; a PWSA certification is a plus. • Meet physical requirements: climb towers, lift 50 lb, work up to 12 hours, and hold a valid driver’s license. • Possess at least 4 years tower experience; high school diploma required; PWSA certification is a plus.
