About the Role

The Building Maintenance Technician role is full‑time in Oakville, working 8‑hour rotating morning and afternoon shifts. The technician operates facility mechanical and supporting systems, performs structured inspections, preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensures compliance with environmental, health, safety, and fire protection requirements. • Comply with all environmental, health, safety, and fire protection regulations. • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other building equipment. • Conduct regular equipment inspections, document findings, and prioritize repairs to maintain uptime. • Respond to routine and on‑demand service requests and support facility‑related projects. • Manage work orders through the CMMS, ensuring quality, timely completion, and accurate record‑keeping. • Coordinate with vendors, obtain technical quotes, and manage the maintenance budget. • Communicate technical information to internal teams and external vendors; escalate critical issues promptly. • Provide on‑site technical presence, building relationships with personnel to ensure equipment reliability. • Mentor lower‑level technicians and support their professional development. • Work rotating shifts, remain on‑call/standby, and handle emergency call‑outs as needed. • Maintain a strong safety mindset, use required PPE, and obtain appropriate security clearance.

What You Bring

• Hold a high school diploma and trade certification or licensing related to building systems. • Show experience with preventive/corrective maintenance on HVAC, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems. • Demonstrate knowledge of building automation systems (BAS) and facility operations processes. • Exhibit excellent client‑service orientation and effective communication skills.
