About the Role

A Driver – CDL (B) is responsible for safely operating a collection truck and providing prompt, courteous waste removal services. The driver must ensure the vehicle meets the company’s safety standards before each shift, comply with all company, state, and federal regulations, and complete daily vehicle condition reports to address any defects. The role includes thorough pre‑ and post‑operation vehicle inspections to verify tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, and controls. Drivers follow a designated route sheet, load refuse using manual or automatic controls, operate the compactor, and dispose of material at the appropriate facility while interacting courteously with customers and dispatchers. Additional duties involve tagging unsatisfactory containers, monitoring waste for prohibited items, cleaning accidental spills according to safety policies, and maintaining the truck’s condition by clearing waste from the packer blade and body. Drivers also complete required productivity sheets, VCRs, and other reports, adhere to productivity standards, follow all safety procedures, and participate in the company’s ReSOP program.

Minimum qualifications include a Class B (or higher) Commercial Driver’s License with an air‑brakes endorsement. The role is paid at a union hourly rate of $35.93 and offers a bonus plan where applicable.
