About the Role

The HVAC Smart Building Account Executive sells Johnson Controls’ Building Efficiency solutions to mechanical contractors, designers, and consulting engineers. The role involves delivering business and technical solutions, fostering long‑term customer relationships, and positioning renewable service agreements to strengthen managed accounts. • Sell Johnson Controls Building Efficiency solutions to mechanical contractors, designers, and consulting engineers. • Promote value proposition with comprehensive business and technical solutions and build customer loyalty. • Position renewable service agreements to strengthen managed account relationships. • Execute full sales process: qualify, nurture, and close new opportunities while managing long‑term accounts. • Use sales tools to track pipeline, document progress, and expand product offerings within assigned accounts. • Participate as core team member on high‑growth accounts and continuously develop sales skills and product knowledge. • Develop partnerships with decision‑makers, listen to concerns, and earn trust in the construction community. • Identify and engage prospective customers aligned with JCI strategy and maintain industry network. • Deliver estimates, proposals, and cost/benefit analyses to influence building efficiency strategies. • Act as customer advocate within Johnson Controls, including project inspections and training on system operations.

What You Bring

Success in this position requires confident, persuasive selling to all members of the construction community, developing strong partnerships with decision‑makers, and proactively identifying prospects aligned with JCI strategy. The executive must produce high‑quality estimates, proposals, and cost‑benefit analyses while using sales tools to maintain an active pipeline and document progress. Candidates need a bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related discipline, at least eight years of field sales experience, and four years selling HVAC or building automation systems. We look for integrity, initiative, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence market dynamics. The salary range is $72,500‑$109,000, complemented by a competitive sales incentive plan. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field. • Possess at least 8 years of successful field sales experience, with 4+ years selling HVAC or building automation systems. • Demonstrate strong integrity, initiative, interpersonal communication, and ability to influence market dynamics.
