Associate Managing Director I

About the Role

In this high‑level role you will provide management review, oversee a regional team, and develop business plans, pursuits, and a wide variety of projects, organizational structures, and processes. As a privately owned company we reward key leaders with ownership opportunities that drive overall performance and recognition. You will build a staff, coordinate execution of all market‑focus activities in your region, and maintain client satisfaction while generating new revenue and expanding existing streams. Responsibilities include developing a network of architects, contractors, and business partners, tracking leads, forecasting pipelines, ensuring technical excellence, coordinating regional and national business plans, leading sales presentations, recruiting senior staff, and producing thought‑leadership content such as articles and conference talks. • Lead and grow a regional practice team reporting to national leadership. • Develop and execute business plans, pursue new projects, and manage organizational processes. • Build and maintain a network of architects, contractors, and business partners to generate revenue. • Forecast project pipelines, track leads, and devise winning strategies for major pursuits. • Ensure technical excellence and resolve project issues across the region. • Coordinate regional practice plan with national market strategy and other practice areas. • Drive sales presentations and promote integrated engineering services. • Recruit senior staff with market‑specific experience and provide leadership to new hires. • Produce industry thought leadership through articles, white papers, and conference speaking.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, deep technical expertise, self‑motivation, relationship‑building ability, and excellent communication in a fast‑paced environment. Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or extensive experience), 15+ years of market design experience, at least 7 years of management experience, 7+ years of business development in engineering or construction, PE registration, thorough knowledge of MEP systems, and willingness to travel regionally and occasionally internationally. • Minimum qualifications: BS in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, 15+ years design experience, 7+ years management, PE license. • Demonstrated expertise in MEP systems and experience developing engineering or construction business. • Ability to travel regionally on the East Coast and occasionally internationally.
