About the Role
Primary responsibilities include primary and medium‑voltage distribution, emergency and backup power generation, motor‑starting analysis, short‑circuit and arc‑flash studies, and lighting design. Your typical day will involve partnering with others to prepare detailed calculations, drawings, and technical specifications, verifying and adjusting data as needed, and coordinating project efforts with the broader team. • Design power systems for water infrastructure projects (primary and medium voltage distribution, emergency backup power, motor starting, short‑circuit and arc‑flash analysis, lighting). • Prepare calculations, drawings, and technical specifications; verify and adjust data; coordinate project efforts with multidisciplinary teams. • Collaborate effectively with engineers from structural, mechanical, civil, and environmental disciplines.

What You Bring
Our Electrical team is part of the Facilities Group and collaborates with structural, mechanical, civil, and environmental engineers on projects such as buildings, bridges, dams, water and wastewater treatment facilities, and pump and lift stations. As a member of this multidisciplinary team you will work on multiple projects, and strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. Electrical engineers are critical to the long‑term operation of water infrastructure by designing the power needs for these projects. Opportunities are available in Fort Worth, TX; Dallas, TX; Austin, TX; and Raleigh, NC. Candidates must hold a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering; internship experience and leadership in student organizations are preferred. • Required: BS or MS in Electrical Engineering; preferred internship experience and leadership in student organizations.
