About the Role
You will provide day‑to‑day technical transport planning input on development planning projects, undertake project management and leadership duties, and mentor Early Career Professionals to help deliver projects effectively. • Lead transport planning input on small to medium scale development projects • Develop transport strategies, travel plans, access and parking strategies, and sustainable transport provisions • Prepare traffic flow information for Transport Assessments and Environmental Statements • Run junction capacity modelling using Junctions 10 and Linsig, including scenario testing • Manage project budgets, resources and invoicing for development projects • Supervise conceptual junction design (priority, roundabout, signals) • Mentor Early Career Professionals and share technical knowledge • Communicate effectively with clients, project teams and external stakeholders • Develop a professional network of co‑professionals and clients

What You Bring
We are hiring a Principal Development Planner with a strong transport planning background to join our Development team in Liverpool. The role involves working on commercial, retail and residential projects, developing transport strategies, providing inputs to masterplans and supporting Expert Witness evidence for both private and public sector clients. The ideal candidate will have experience leading transport assessments, travel plans, access and parking strategies, and sustainable transport provision, using guidance such as NPPF and DfT Transport Assessment guidelines. You should be proficient with junction capacity modelling software, capable of project budgeting and resource planning, and able to communicate confidently with clients and stakeholders. • Use Excel and Word for day‑to‑day project documentation • Demonstrate experience with NPPF, DfT Transport Assessment guidelines and Manual for Streets • Pursuing or holding chartered status in a transport‑related discipline
