About the Role
The Front End Engineer will work directly with the founders in an early‑stage, hybrid role (2 days on‑site in Sydney, 3 days remote) to drive product adoption and revenue growth, supported by an experienced management team. • Build new features within the product team. • Plan changes methodically and produce technical documentation. • Implement pixel‑perfect designs for attractive UI. • Continuously refactor code to improve the codebase. • Write unit tests and ensure rigorous end‑to‑end testing for releases. • Stay current with modern web development practices. • Enable and promptly respond to relevant Slack notifications for team communication. • Ensure all functional and non‑functional requirements are met before marking work complete. • Write clean, simple code that is easy to understand and maintain. • Follow existing design patterns and propose improvements. • Add appropriate automated test coverage. • Ship low‑defect code to minimise re‑work. • Assess risk of changes and handle critical alterations carefully. • Review peers’ pull requests promptly.

What You Bring
Success in the role requires passion for high‑quality software, strong communication, and the ability to collaborate with product designers and engineers to deliver attractive, reliable user experiences. • Manage time effectively, seeking clarification when priorities conflict. • Own work, decisions, and accountability for mistakes. • B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent, with 3–6+ years industry experience. • 7–10+ years front‑end development experience using React with TypeScript/JavaScript; unit testing experience required. • Experience with Cypress and PHPUnit is desirable. • Proven track record shipping consumer‑focused applications as part of a team. • Excellent communication and collaboration with product designers. • Ability to differentiate essentials from nice‑to‑haves and deliver results quickly. • Self‑managed time and project ownership. • Passion for software development and continuous improvement.
