About the Role
In the role of Project Principal, you will direct and coordinate single‑ or multi‑discipline teams throughout a project’s lifecycle, from development and initiation to close‑out, and be responsible for any assignment regardless of size or complexity. You will manage multiple projects concurrently, establish client relationships, lead marketing, contractual, design and production meetings, and oversee staffing, workload, and deliverable schedules. Financial tracking, QA/QC implementation, and collaboration with accounting and business leadership for project reviews are also key responsibilities, along with mentoring less‑experienced project managers. • Direct and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams throughout the project lifecycle. • Manage multiple concurrent projects and ensure on‑time delivery of all deliverables. • Establish and nurture client relationships, leading marketing and contractual meetings. • Track project financials, control budgets, and adjust work effort as needed. • Implement QA/QC procedures and conduct periodic project reviews with leadership. • Mentor and supervise junior project managers and large project staff. • Lead design workshops and coordinate staffing across all project phases. • Travel to project sites and client locations as required.

What You Bring
Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, professional registration, experience on large‑scale health projects, and the ability to lead teams and present to clients, as well as knowledge of local markets, strong leadership and communication skills, willingness to travel, and interest in sustainable design/LEED. Required qualifications are a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, at least 15 years of relevant experience, a minimum of 7 years of project management experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office, estimating, scheduling, and project management software, and excellent organizational and communication abilities. A commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture is also essential. • Apply sustainable design practices and pursue LEED certification. • Hold professional architecture registration and a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture. • Minimum 15 years of related experience, including 7 years in project management. • Proficient with Microsoft Office, estimating, scheduling, and project management software.
