Cleaner

About the Role

The Cleaner role is a core member of the operational team, reporting to a Manager or Supervisor, and is responsible for maintaining a designated zone with a focus on quality control, health and safety, and exceeding client expectations. • Sweep, scrub, vacuum, and mop hard‑surface floors using hand‑held or automatic equipment. • Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors manually or with power tools. • Clean washroom floors, stairwells, elevator cabs, glass areas, and carpeted surfaces, including steam cleaning. • Transport garbage, cleaning supplies, and maintenance machinery between floors and job sites. • Load, unload, and replenish cleaning solutions and supplies. • Operate snow removal equipment and apply melting chemicals on exterior walkways. • Prepare and mix chemical cleaning solutions following WHMIS safety procedures. • Report major repairs or equipment issues to management. • Clean and store equipment after use, ensuring proper maintenance. • Follow all health‑ and safety‑related procedures to protect floors, fixtures, and personnel.

What You Bring

Candidates should have experience in institutional cleaning and using floor‑maintenance equipment, knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to lift, push, pull heavy items and work on ladders. A valid Class G driver’s license, willingness to work weekends, holidays and multiple locations, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions are required.
