About the Role

The role is based at WM’s Cleveland hauling site in a repair/maintenance shop, working Monday‑Friday on the 2 pm‑11 pm second shift with rotating weekend coverage, ensuring stable hours and work‑life balance. As a Diesel Mechanic you will service trucks and equipment that support over 20 million customers, using modern tools and procedures to maintain diesel and, at some locations, CNG fleets, taking pride in keeping the community’s operations running smoothly. The position requires you to inspect, diagnose, and repair a variety of vehicle systems, estimate repair costs, adhere to Standard Labor Repair Times, respond to emergency breakdowns, complete safety checks, document work, and maintain a clean, OSHA‑compliant workspace. • Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems • Estimate time and material costs for repairs and new parts • Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs) • Respond to emergency service calls and breakdowns • Conduct safety checks on all vehicles • Complete paperwork for parts usage and repair time documentation • Review and address Driver Vehicle Inspection Report findings • Maintain a clean, safe work area in line with Corporate and OSHA standards

What You Bring

Candidates must have at least two years of relevant experience, a clean‑driving‑record license, be over 18, legally authorized to work in the U.S., and be able to meet the physical demands of the job while passing a pre‑employment drug screen and physical.
