About the Role

The manager oversees daily operations of the Shared Services Organization’s AR‑GL team, ensuring accurate postings, policy compliance, timely month‑end close, and effective reporting while supporting operational efficiency and strategic decision‑making across the organization. Key duties include leading the SSO team and projects, fostering a supportive environment with training and coaching, acting as the subject‑matter expert for assigned workstreams, prioritizing stakeholder requests, developing standardized and automated processes, and monitoring service‑level agreements. Additional responsibilities cover creating dashboards and metrics for project transparency, analyzing stakeholder feedback to drive improvements, facilitating cross‑functional collaboration, and managing performance reviews and development conversations. Record‑to‑Report tasks involve supervising general ledger activities, reviewing and approving journal entries, coordinating cash management with Treasury, maintaining the monthly close schedule, and providing financial analysis to profit‑center managers. • Lead and manage the SSO AR‑GL team, delivering high‑quality service and meeting SLAs. • Develop and implement standardized, automated processes to enhance efficiency. • Serve as SME and primary contact for AR and GL workstreams, handling stakeholder requests. • Create dashboards, track metrics, and report project performance to leadership. • Conduct quarterly check‑ins, performance reviews, and provide coaching for team development. • Oversee general ledger functions, journal entry approvals, and monthly close activities. • Coordinate cash management with Treasury and perform financial analysis for profit centers. • Apply GAAP principles, internal controls, and risk‑management practices. • Utilize ERP (SAP/Oracle/Workday) and analytics tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau) for reporting. • Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives using Agile, Lean, or Six Sigma methodologies.

What You Bring

The role of Accounting Manager – Finance – Record to Report (R2R) – Accounts Receivable and General Ledger is located in Cincinnati, Ohio within Turner Shared Services. It reports to the Senior Financial Manager – Finance and operates at FN4/FN5 level, requiring a bachelor’s degree and at least eight years of relevant experience. Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in accounting, at least four to five years of leadership experience, deep knowledge of GAAP, strong analytical and communication skills, proficiency with ERP and reporting tools such as SAP, Power BI, and Tableau, and familiarity with continuous‑improvement methodologies. The position demands minimal travel, occasional lifting of up to 25 lb, and the ability to work in an office environment while adhering to safety and compliance policies.
