About the Role
The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Maintenance Manager and leads a shop team responsible for preventive maintenance and repair of the company's fleet, post‑collection facility machinery, and equipment serving the container shop. This role ensures all work complies with company safety standards, federal and state regulations, and is completed safely and efficiently. Key duties include directing A, B, and C level technicians, monitoring operational performance, and reporting on productivity while recommending process improvements. The supervisor conducts daily shop huddles, fleet walks, and provides coaching, counseling, and training, as well as making hiring and termination decisions in partnership with Human Resources. • Supervise technician team performing preventive maintenance and repairs on fleet trucks, containers, and heavy equipment. • Plan, schedule, and prioritize repair work to ensure safe, timely completion and minimize productivity loss. • Lead daily shop huddles, fleet walks, and provide coaching, counseling, and training to technicians. • Conduct performance evaluations, hiring/termination decisions with HR, and recommend merit increases or promotions. • Inspect outside repairs and perform quality‑control inspections to ensure compliance with safety, federal, and state regulations. • Oversee complex diagnostics, road‑test vehicles, and guide technical work on engine, emission, transmission, brake, hydraulic, electrical, HVAC, and welding systems. • Manage shop inventory, approve purchases within budget, and track expenses. • Maintain maintenance records in Dossier Maintenance Software and prepare departmental budgets. • Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements.

What You Bring
The position requires a high school diploma or GED, ASE certifications (T2‑T7, Master Certified), and at least three years of heavy‑equipment maintenance experience plus one year in a supervisory role. Responsibilities also cover quality‑control inspections, complex diagnostics, inventory control, expense approvals, and maintaining detailed maintenance records in Dossier Maintenance Software.
