Job Highlights
About the Role
Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear lift attachments, transporting waste or recyclable containers that can exceed 1,000 pounds. Depending on the line of business, drivers may perform residential collections, roll‑off container loading, or other specialized tasks that require skilled backing maneuvers in congested or tight environments. Key duties include complying with WM Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA, DOT, and all local, state, and federal regulations; conducting pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections using DVIR forms; promptly reporting unsafe conditions, incidents, and service interruptions; attending required training and briefings; collaborating with the Operations Manager to improve route efficiency; communicating customer requests; and ensuring each site is left clean after dumping. • Operate heavy‑duty trucks with lift attachments safely and in compliance with WM, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws. • Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIR documentation. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, accidents, and service interruptions promptly to the Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Participate in required training, briefings, and meetings and work with management to improve route efficiency. • Communicate customer requests, dump containers cleanly, and leave sites free of debris. • Follow assigned routes, complete end‑of‑day paperwork, and assist fellow drivers as needed. • Meet physical demands such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, and handling heavy containers.

What You Bring
Applicants must hold a valid Class A or Class B CDL with an air‑brake endorsement, have at least one year of commercial driving or equivalent military experience within the past seven years, be at least 18 years old, and be legally eligible to work in the United States. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. The role demands physical activities such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, and handling heavy containers, with accommodations available for individuals with disabilities as needed. • Hold a valid Class A or Class B CDL with air‑brake endorsement and at least one year of commercial driving or equivalent military experience. • Be at least 18 years old, legally eligible to work in the United States, and preferably possess a high school diploma or GED.
