About the Role

As a Senior R&D Engineer in Embedded Software you will join the IED Software platform team within R&D, which develops and maintains the global software platform for Hitachi Energy products. The team follows SCRUM agile practices and works in a collaborative yet independent environment, designing new functions and supporting existing platform components. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and providing regular support for advanced embedded real‑time software, converting business requirements into software design concepts, troubleshooting complex customer cases, and documenting the software. Delivery and deadline orientation, compliance with external and internal regulations, and adherence to Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity are essential. • Develop and maintain advanced embedded real‑time software for critical applications. • Translate business requirements into software design concepts. • Troubleshoot and support complex customer issues. • Produce clear documentation and ensure regulatory compliance. • Work within SCRUM agile framework and meet delivery deadlines.

What You Bring

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in EEE, ECE or CSE and have 5–8 years of embedded software experience. In‑depth knowledge of RTOS (RTLinux or VxWorks) and strong C++ skills are required, with embedded C, software analysis tools, communication protocols, Industrial IoT or distributed systems as advantageous. Experience managing agile development (SCRUM), good communication, team‑player attitude, technical leadership ambition, and proficiency in spoken and written English are also required. • Possess 5–8 years of embedded software experience with RTOS (RTLinux or VxWorks) and C++/C. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in EEE, ECE or CSE. • Experience with software analysis tools, communication protocols, Industrial IoT or distributed systems is a plus. • Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, and technical leadership ambition. • Fluent in spoken and written English.
