About the Role
The Sourcing Manager will lead strategic procurement and supplier management for metal building products and related components. Responsibilities include developing category strategies, driving cost optimization, ensuring supply continuity and quality, and collaborating with engineering, operations, quality, and transportation teams. The role also involves leading teams and projects, as well as training junior personnel. • Develop and implement category strategies for steel components, fasteners, coatings, and related items to meet cost, quality, and lead‑time goals. • Identify, qualify, and onboard suppliers; lead selection, contract negotiations, and long‑term agreements. • Manage supplier performance through regular business reviews and drive continuous improvement in cost, quality, delivery, and responsiveness. • Lead supplier development initiatives to resolve quality issues, enhance capability, and reduce total cost of ownership. • Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering and operations to align specifications, lead times, inventory targets, and design‑for‑sourcing opportunities. • Monitor commodity market trends and implement hedging, pricing strategies, or strategic sourcing actions to mitigate volatility and secure supply. • Oversee risk management and continuity planning, establishing contingency plans for critical components and alternate suppliers. • Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards. • Administer sourcing tools and maintain data integrity in the Oracle ERP system. • Lead cost‑reduction projects, track savings, and communicate results to leadership.

What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, engineering, business, or a related field. • Over 9 years of strategic sourcing/procurement experience, preferably in metal manufacturing or construction materials. • Strong negotiation, contracting, and supplier management skills. • Proven ability to lead cross‑functional programs and influence without formal authority. • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and data analytics tools (Excel, Power BI, etc.). • Knowledge of manufacturing and quality standards such as ISO 9001 and ASTM. • Analytical mindset with a record of delivering cost savings and supplier performance improvements. • Ability to travel domestically up to 25 % of the time. • Relevant certifications (CPSM, CPIM, CIPS, Six Sigma, or equivalent). • Prior experience with steel supply chains, metal finishing, coatings, fasteners, or building accessory categories. • Familiarity with supplier quality audits, supplier development, and root‑cause problem solving.
