About the Role
Key duties include performing third-party inspections of building, electrical, mechanical, architectural, structural, plumbing, and fire-safety systems, and preparing daily time and field reports in line with ECS policy. The manager will oversee code-compliance projects by reviewing plans, providing technical support, conducting inspections, monitoring performance and budgets, preparing proposals, attending site meetings, and resolving technical and administrative issues. Additional responsibilities involve mentoring other inspectors, assisting with profit-and-loss management, and supporting marketing and business-development activities for code-inspection services. • Conduct third-party inspections of building, electrical, mechanical, structural, plumbing, and fire safety systems. • Prepare daily time and field reports according to ECS policy. • Review project plans, provide technical support, and monitor performance and budgets. • Prepare proposals, attend site meetings, and resolve technical and administrative issues. • Mentor and train junior building inspectors. • Assist with profit‑and‑loss management and market code inspection services.

ECS is looking for a Code Compliance Project Manager to join the Mid-Atlantic Facilities team in Richmond, VA. The role involves leading a variety of inspection and plan-review projects while ensuring compliance with state and local building codes. Candidates should have practical experience with building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire-protection systems and strong project-management skills. Applicants must hold a high school diploma or GED and have at least five years of code-compliance inspection or plan-review experience across building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or fire-protection systems. A valid ICC certification (e.g., B2, M2, P2, E2, Fire Inspector I/II) is required, and a driver’s license is needed for any driving duties on behalf of ECS. • Minimum 5 years of code‑compliance inspection or plan‑review experience. • Hold a valid ICC certification (B2, M2, P2, E2, Fire Inspector I/II). • Maintain a valid driver’s license for company‑related driving.
