About the Role

The Senior Project Engineer will manage a small project or a component of a larger, more complex project with oversight. This role applies JE Dunn processes and tools to manage project administration and field execution, supporting the company’s strategy, vision, and values. Core responsibilities include ensuring safety and quality, coordinating QA/QC, supporting estimating and change management, monitoring on‑site resources, handling documentation, reporting, procurement, and project close‑out while implementing best practices and Lean principles. Additional senior duties involve leading estimates and scope definition, selecting subcontractors, managing purchase orders, overseeing project scheduling and risk, conducting meetings, approving pay applications, and mentoring team members. • Coordinate with QA/QC planning to ensure quality. • Participate in estimating and change management, including quantity take‑off and subcontractor proposal review. • Monitor crew size, self‑perform hours, materials, and equipment on site. • Conduct punch lists, city inspections, safety and quality reviews, and prepare documentation. • Post updated drawings and specifications. • Organize and attend project meetings; prepare and disseminate documentation. • Prepare daily, weekly, and progress reports covering manpower, production schedules, and equipment tracking. • Perform job‑site observations with project leadership. • Create and maintain procurement logs; track shop drawings and deliveries. • Provide progress updates to support scheduling. • Oversee project close‑out, including punch lists, O&M manuals, and as‑built drawings. • Apply best‑practice construction techniques. • Build relationships and communicate with tradespeople, foremen, superintendents, and subcontractors. • Collaborate and demonstrate teamwork. • Implement Lean practices into regular activities. • Identify and integrate self‑perform opportunities. • Lead preparation of estimates for base project, self‑perform work, and change requests; define scopes and select subcontractors. • Decide on subcontractor and vendor selection. • Coordinate purchase orders for material timing, delivery, and product changes. • Support job set‑up and administration in CMiC and other technologies. • Lead submittal process to align with schedule. • Prepare and manage project schedule for assigned portion. • Analyze and report production statistics for key components. • Manage project risks including subcontractor performance, financials, and resource allocation. • Coordinate various meetings (pre‑planning, post‑construction, monthly reviews, OAC meetings). • Review and approve monthly subcontractor and vendor pay applications. • Initiate issue conversations to foster collaborative problem solving. • Lead project close‑out, managing punch lists, quality, cost, and inspections. • Provide training and mentorship to others. • Build lasting relationships with team members. • Assess and optimize project productivity. • Lead teams and achieve production goals.

What You Bring

Candidates must possess strong communication skills, proficiency with MS Office and construction software, knowledge of Lean processes, self‑perform productivity, and the ability to build relationships, lead teams, and maximize profitability. A bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience) and at least three years of construction experience are required.
