About the Role

Key duties include supporting the creation of project schedules and budgets, overseeing design and construction phases such as pavement, drainage, and traffic management, and maintaining health‑safety, quality, and change‑order documentation. The engineer also assists with financial forecasting, invoicing, and client communication, while helping identify new business opportunities and contributing to staff development and performance management. • Assist Project Manager in planning, directing, and controlling roads infrastructure projects • Support development of project schedules, budgets, and deliverables aligned with standards • Oversee design, construction, and maintenance phases, including pavement, drainage, and traffic management • Forecast monthly revenue, labor costs, ODCs, and gross profit for the project term • Manage project invoicing, billing, and track accounts receivable/payable • Maintain Project Management, Health & Safety, and QA/QC plans for compliance • Monitor deliverables to ensure quality and adherence to criteria • Assign responsibilities to team members based on qualifications • Negotiate scope changes with clients and subcontractors • Communicate regularly with clients, subconsultants, and subcontractors • Identify and pursue additional work opportunities within transportation sector • Contribute to career development plans and identify training needs for staff • Participate in staffing plans and performance management activities • Represent Parsons at industry conferences and prepare presentations • Provide regular updates on cost, schedule, and scope to senior leadership • Ensure timely change orders and maintain project documentation • Apply Quality Assurance processes to promote technical and commercial excellence • Support proposal development, client meetings, and business development initiatives

What You Bring

The Project Engineer role focuses on small to medium‑size roads infrastructure projects, typically up to $50 million in installed cost. Reporting to the Project Manager, the engineer assists in scope development, commercial performance, and delivery within schedule and budget while adhering to contractual obligations. This position offers hands‑on experience across design, construction, and maintenance of transportation assets. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related technical field with a focus on transportation or infrastructure, and possess at least three years of experience on roads infrastructure projects, including field‑site leadership. An Engineer‑in‑Training certification is preferred, with progress toward Professional Engineer licensure considered an asset. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field with transportation focus • Minimum 3 years experience on roads infrastructure projects and field‑site leadership • Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification preferred; progress toward PE licensure valued • Strong organizational, time‑management, and multitasking abilities • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Knowledge of industry practices, regulations, and technology for roads infrastructure
