About the Role
• Serve as an experienced Traffic Noise Analyst preparing detailed Traffic Noise Reports with strong analytical and writing skills • Perform acoustical assignments using both standard and non‑standard techniques and procedures • Complete projects with clear objectives and limited variables, working independently or supporting senior staff • Act as a Technical Specialist, Task Lead, or Project Manager as needed, while not focusing solely on project management • Provide direction to clerical, technical, and junior professional personnel • Conduct transportation noise, environmental noise, and vibration‑related analyses • Prepare and review technical studies for NEPA compliance and conduct public outreach when required • Utilize GIS and the FHWA Traffic Noise Model (TNM) to execute traffic noise analyses nationwide • Perform additional related duties and travel to project sites, including occasional overnight stays

What You Bring
The firm is looking for a Traffic Noise Specialist 2 to support transportation, environmental, and architectural acoustics projects across the United States. The Acoustics Practice provides award‑winning expertise in traffic, aviation, rail, environmental noise, vibration and architectural acoustics, delivering modeling, measurement, consulting and expert‑witness services. • PE or INCE Board certification (preferred) • Master’s degree in Acoustics, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a closely related field (preferred) • Bachelor’s degree in Acoustics, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Biology, Geology, or a related discipline • Minimum of 4–5 years of relevant experience in acoustics or noise analysis • Demonstrated leadership abilities and strong teamwork skills • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, GIS, and the FHWA Traffic Noise Model (TNM) • Experience with field noise measurements and software for processing and analyzing measurement data • Familiarity with ISO and U.S. acoustical standards and current guidance documents (FHWA, FTA, FRA, USIBC, etc.) • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Flexibility to work locally and preference for local candidates
