About the Role
The Project Manager – Control Systems role serves as the on‑site leader for building automation and control systems projects, overseeing planning, execution, and closeout for assigned customers. This position balances customer satisfaction, technical excellence, and financial performance while ensuring projects meet scope, schedule, and budget targets. In this role you will direct subcontractors, electrical installers, technicians, designers, and administrative partners, coordinating across teams to achieve seamless execution. You will also ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal regulations, upholds the highest ethical standards, and follows Johnson Controls’ Zero Harm safety policy. • Lead execution of control systems projects: hardware design, programming, installation coordination, commissioning, and closeout • Manage project financials: costs, billings, and collections • Maintain strong customer relationships as primary point of contact throughout project phases • Identify and pursue change orders and oversee warranty work execution • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget • Provide direction to subcontractors, installers, technicians, designers, and administrative partners • Coordinate cross‑functional teams for seamless project execution • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and uphold ethical standards • Lead by example in safety, adhering to Johnson Controls policies and procedures

What You Bring
The ideal candidate holds an associate’s degree in a technical field with at least two years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience in building automation. Proven project management experience, strong communication skills, a solid work ethic, and proficiency with computer tools are required, while HVAC controls experience and knowledge of project accounting are preferred. • Associate’s degree in a technical field with 2 years relevant experience or 4 years equivalent experience in building automation • Experience programming control panels, preferably for HVAC systems • Proven project management experience • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non‑technical audiences • Strong independent work ethic and problem‑solving skills • Proficiency with computers and related tools • Preferred: 2+ years HVAC controls industry project management experience • Knowledge of project accounting and costing principles • Hands‑on experience in design and commissioning of digital HVAC control systems
