About the Role

• Work safely on new construction, maintenance, or repair of energized and de‑energized underground systems. • Lead crew and act as company representative in the foreman's absence. • Conduct effective pre‑job briefings. • Handle energized high‑voltage systems with skill to protect lives. • Operate a backhoe safely. • Operate and maintain company equipment responsibly. • Identify primary and secondary voltages. • Perform switching and splicing tasks. • Use tools to terminate cable. • Apply grounding procedures. • Obtain a one‑shot on a recloser when needed. • Work safely in confined spaces and follow confined‑space requirements. • Install and remove PPE and cover‑ups correctly. • Execute underground switching procedures. • Phase out lines using phasing sticks. • Plan safe work based on job prints or work orders. • Promote safety at all times. • Inspect rubber goods and PPE properly. • Inspect crew members' work. • Travel long distances on short notice when required. • Follow flag and tag procedures. • Use hand tools continuously and tolerate exposure to dirt and power. • Identify underground utility locates and troubleshoot circuits. • Terminate various cable sizes. • Recognize obstacles that affect safety or production. • Work extended periods in diverse locations and flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.

What You Bring

The Underground Lineman position involves skilled construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical underground distribution systems. The role demands regular communication, frequent standing, walking, hand and arm use, and the ability to lift over 50 pounds while performing rigorous physical labor. • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of underground distribution. • Recognize and address induced voltage. • Understand underground services, infrastructure, and duct banks. • Possess 1‑3 years of relevant experience. • Read and communicate effectively in English. • Hold a CDL or obtain one within 60 days of hire. • Demonstrate safe driving techniques. • Work outdoors in inclement weather and be willing to work overtime.
