About the Role
You will develop engineered sketches and drawings using Autodesk and Bentley packages, perform quantity calculations for cost estimating, and undertake field site visits to support design deliverables. You will also collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and your study costs will be paid upon successful completion of the degree. • Assist in engineering design and documentation for roads, bridges, cycleways, drainage, water and renewable‑energy projects. • Create engineered sketches and drawings using Autodesk and Bentley software. • Perform quantity calculations to support cost estimating. • Conduct field site visits to inform design deliverables. • Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to deliver project outcomes.

What You Bring
The role provides hands‑on civil design experience while you study a part‑time Associate Degree in Civil Engineering. You will work in a Cairns office alongside staff who have completed the same program, contributing to infrastructure projects across roads, bridges, cycleways, drainage, water, and renewable energy. Candidates must have completed Year 12 and meet the enrolment criteria for the Associate Degree in Civil Engineering through USQ or CQU. The ideal applicant is motivated to learn from professional teams, has a strong drive to apply academic knowledge to real projects, and may be a Year 12 student seeking limited work‑experience positions. • Study a part‑time Associate Degree in Civil Engineering (USQ or CQU) paid upon successful completion. • Must have completed Year 12 and meet enrolment requirements for the associate degree. • Demonstrate drive, motivation and aptitude to apply studies to real‑world work.
