About the Role

Job Summary: The Preservationist performs preservation, packing, labeling, recording, issuing, and shipping of equipment, along with associated clerical duties. The role may involve using automated systems and equipment, as well as other manual tasks as directed. Additional duties are assigned as needed. • Preserve, pack, label, record, issue, and ship equipment. • Perform related clerical and accountability tasks. • Operate automated packaging systems and specialized preservative equipment. • Complete manual tasks and follow detailed processing instructions. • Use motorized material‑handling equipment and lift up to 50 lb.

What You Bring

Basic Qualifications require a high school diploma or equivalent and at least five years of directly related experience. Candidates must have completed the Enlisted Warehouseman Basic Course at MCSSS (or equivalent) and the Packaging Technology and Administration Courses offered by the School of Military Packaging Technology (or equivalents). The position demands working knowledge of state, federal, and Department of Defense regulations governing material preparation and transportation, as well as familiarity with preservatives that protect metal from corrosion. Candidates must be able to operate specialized equipment for applying preservatives, assemble mechanical systems, follow detailed processing instructions, and use motorized material‑handling equipment. Physical requirements include the ability to lift 50 pounds and possess a valid state driver’s license. The role requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and base access. • Apply knowledge of DoD, federal, and state transport regulations. • Maintain a valid state driver’s license. • Hold U.S. citizenship and obtain a Common Access Card (CAC). • Have a high school diploma/equivalent and 5 years relevant experience. • Complete Enlisted Warehouseman Basic Course and Packaging Technology training.
