About the Role
The Engineering Team Leader will manage a group of professional engineers and support staff, overseeing complex engineering activities such as systems engineering, liaison with manufacturing, configuration control, systems assurance, materials compliance, and engineering change processes. The role includes strategic planning, technical advisory, and program coordination to ensure efficient use of equipment and materials, as well as developing integration plans for rolling stock and ensuring compliance with new systems and operating methodologies. • Lead and manage a team of engineers and support staff across complex engineering activities. • Oversee systems engineering, manufacturing liaison, configuration control, systems assurance, materials compliance, and engineering change processes. • Drive short‑term and long‑term strategic planning and make independent decisions on engineering policies. • Provide expert technical advice to management and operational departments. • Coordinate work programmes to optimise equipment and material usage. • Develop integration plans for rolling stock and ensure compliance with new systems and operating methodologies.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold an engineering degree, have ten years of relevant experience, extensive project delivery background, and strong people‑management and organisational skills. Registration on the National Engineering Register (or progress toward it) and membership of a professional institution such as Engineers Australia are required.
