About the Role
The Front Desk Engineer (FDE) manages GCOE Operations for a sub‑region and serves as a key technical advisor to the sales team, providing client‑facing support that enhances the quality of the sales process. This role partners with local sellers and sales managers to analyze pipeline, develop winning strategies, and ensure delivery of high‑value, technically sound solutions. The FDE collaborates with engineers across regions, architects, and construction managers to design and coordinate system solutions, lead pre‑sales engineering, and oversee technical procurement. Responsibilities also include mentoring pre‑sales staff, managing capacity utilization across squads, tracking KPIs, and ensuring consistent field installation delivery through detailed design documentation. • Manage GCOE Operations and act as technical advisor to sales • Provide client‑facing support throughout the sales process • Partner with sales managers to analyze pipeline and develop winning strategies • Lead pre‑sales engineering, delivering end‑to‑end solutions and technical procurement • Coordinate system and inter‑trade design with architects and construction managers • Mentor pre‑sales team and develop training/upskilling programs • Identify risks, plan mitigations, and ensure consistent field installation delivery

What You Bring
Ideal candidates have 10+ years of experience in the building‑technology security domain, strong knowledge of Johnson Controls products, and excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills. Proven leadership, team‑management abilities, familiarity with industry regulations and standards, and the capacity to thrive in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment are essential. • Own metrics, KPIs, and capacity utilization across multiple squads • 10+ years experience in building‑technology security design/engineering • Strong knowledge of Johnson Controls product portfolio and solution innovation • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills for technical concepts • Proven leadership and team‑management abilities • Familiarity with regulations, certifications, and industry standards • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment managing multiple priorities
