Civil Craft Operator - EMT

About the Role

Mortenson is seeking an Operator responsible for operating equipment as directed while adhering to all safety policies and procedures. The role requires operating a variety of equipment—including blades, dozers, loaders, scrapers, forklifts/telehandlers, cranes, bobcats/skid‑steers, aerial lifts, rollers, backhoes, and track cranes—and following safety regulations, maintaining housekeeping, performing routine maintenance, observing equipment operation, detecting malfunctions, and following work plans and pre‑task cards. The Operator must build relationships across diverse backgrounds and organizational levels and perform any additional duties assigned. • Operate diverse heavy equipment (blade, dozer, loader, scraper, forklift/telehandler, crane, bobcat/skid‑steer, aerial lift, roller, backhoe, track crane). • Follow safety regulations and maintain orderly housekeeping. • Perform routine maintenance, monitor equipment, and identify malfunctions. • Follow work plans and pre‑task cards. • Build relationships with team members at all organizational levels. • Maintain required equipment certifications and hold a valid driver’s license. • Read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, load charts, and perform basic calculations. • Perform repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements; lift up to 50 lb (assistance required for heavier loads). • Provide medical, prescription drug, vision, and dental coverage at no extra cost. • Supply a no‑cost mental‑health tool and concierge services.

What You Bring

Candidates need required equipment certifications, at least one year of related experience, a valid driver’s license with necessary endorsements, strong teamwork and customer service skills, the ability to read safety rules and manuals, basic math skills, and the capacity to operate equipment controls safely. Physical demands include repetitive movements and lifting up to 50 lb (over‑50 lb lifts require assistance). • Demonstrate teamwork, positive attitude, professional customer service, and attention to detail.
