About the Role
In this role you will develop trusted relationships with Indigenous communities for one of Australia’s most significant infrastructure programmes. Based in the Hunter, you will be on‑the‑ground, liaising with Indigenous communities and landowners to understand property‑specific issues and participate in community engagement activities. You will coordinate property access for the project team and contractors, ensuring activities are undertaken respectfully and minimise disruption to Indigenous stakeholders. The role will foster positive relationships throughout project development, land access, environmental heritage assessment, construction, and into operations, while supporting cultural awareness across staff, contractors and the wider business. • Analyse and develop strategic plans and policies to improve outcomes for those communities. • Build and maintain positive working relationships and facilitate effective community engagement with Indigenous groups and stakeholders. • Apply corporate communication best practices. • Manage relationships with a wide range of stakeholder and community groups. • Provide analytical assessments of issue impacts and contribute to business need analyses. • Maintain high‑quality written records and documentation. • Collaborate cooperatively within a team environment.
