About the Role

The consultant will work on large‑scale development projects such as energy generation (including CCS, hydrogen, solar, offshore wind), energy transmission, carbon capture pipelines, rail, highways, regeneration, and a range of sectoral developments. Responsibilities include coordinating environmental inputs for EIA screening, scoping, assessments and statements, reviewing specialist chapters, and supporting all project life‑stage phases from strategy through operation. The role also requires ensuring high‑quality deliverables, managing resources and budgets, collaborating with integrated design teams to identify and mitigate environmental impacts, and maintaining client and internal contacts. The consultant will promote AECOM’s environmental services, contribute to business development proposals, and support professional growth within an inclusive, innovative culture. • Coordinate EIA screening, scoping, assessments and Environmental Statements across project stages. • Review technical specialist chapters and ensure deliverable quality. • Manage project resources, budgets and schedules with support. • Collaborate with design teams to identify constraints, avoidance, mitigation and benefit opportunities. • Maintain direct client contact and liaise with internal supply teams. • Promote AECOM environmental services and support business development proposals. • Developing project‑management skills, including programming and budgeting.

What You Bring

Required qualifications are a relevant environmental degree (preferably MSc) with professional membership, experience in EIA consultancy, knowledge of consenting regimes, strong communication and report‑writing skills, and developing project‑management abilities; experience with DCO or TWA is a plus. • Hold a degree in an environmental discipline (MSc preferred) and professional membership. • Demonstrated EIA consultancy experience, including report preparation and technical review. • Understanding of UK consenting regimes (DCO, TCPA, TWA, hybrid Bill) and ability to work with specialist teams. • Strong verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder engagement. • Experience with DCO or TWAO regimes advantageous.
