About the Role
As the MEP Team Leader you will provide technical expertise across building services surveying, asset data collection, compliance auditing, independent certification/testing, technical advisory and due diligence. The role spans a variety of PPP‑type projects in sectors such as education and healthcare, with the aim of expanding into broader infrastructure. You will lead the team in delivering high‑quality technical advisory services. You will guide the delivery of condition surveys, lifecycle assessments and maintenance reviews, while offering independent engineering advice to lenders and investors. Day‑to‑day project management of Independent Certifier services across multiple sites will be a key focus. You will produce clear, documented analyses, consult with clients, ensure budgets and deadlines are met, and support the development of new business opportunities, requiring occasional national travel. • Lead the MEP team in delivering technical advisory, condition surveying, asset data collection, compliance audits, due diligence and lifecycle assessments • Provide independent engineering advice to lenders and investors in property and construction sectors • Manage day‑to‑day Independent Certifier services across multiple projects • Produce clear, reliable quantitative and qualitative analyses with documented inputs and outputs • Develop innovative solutions and present proposals to internal and external clients • Ensure project budgets and deadlines are met while supporting new business development • Travel nationally as required for project delivery

What You Bring
We are looking for candidates with a qualification in building services, mechanical or electrical engineering (BSc, BTEC, HND/HNC or equivalent) and, ideally, professional registration such as CEng or IEng. Strong client‑facing communication, excellent IT skills – particularly Excel – and a background in MEP asset surveying or hard FM are essential, while knowledge of PFI/PPP is a plus. You should be organised, diligent, flexible, motivated to develop your team and capable of acting as an impartial technical expert. • Hold a qualification in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (BSc, BTEC, HND/HNC or equivalent) • Possess or be progressing towards professional registration (CEng or IEng) and membership of MCIBSE, MIMechE or MIET • Demonstrate strong client‑facing communication and teamwork skills • Have experience in MEP asset surveying or Hard FM; knowledge of PFI/PPP is desirable • Exhibit excellent IT skills, especially in Excel, and be organised, diligent and flexible in schedule management
