About the Role
• Advise on the integration of enterprise services such as identity management, network architecture, virtualization, and data storage. • Lead or support infrastructure modernization efforts, including cloud adoption, Zero Trust architecture, and automation strategies. • Develop architectural diagrams, design documentation, and technical white papers for executive and technical audiences. • Provide expertise in capacity planning, performance tuning, scalability analysis, and continuity of operations (COOP). • Participate in technical working groups, design reviews, and program-level briefings with USCIS stakeholders. • Evaluate and recommend technologies, platforms, and tools that support USCIS objectives for performance, security, and cost-efficiency. • Provide strategic guidance on the design, implementation, and optimization of IT infrastructure (on-premises, cloud, and hybrid). • Serve as the subject matter expert for enterprise infrastructure services supporting mission-critical USCIS systems. • Support risk assessments, ATO (Authority to Operate) processes, and infrastructure-related audits. • Ensure all solutions comply with DHS/USCIS standards, including NIST, FISMA, and agency-specific security controls. • Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, and operations teams to ensure cohesive and secure infrastructure deployments.

What You Bring
• Enterprise-level certifications such as: • Experience with ITIL-based service delivery and governance frameworks. • Advanced degree (MS or higher) in a related technical field. • VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX). • Experience supporting federal agencies, ideally within DHS or USCIS. • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience). • Networking (Cisco, Juniper) • Proven experience with large-scale IT infrastructure environments, including: • Identity and access management (Active Directory, LDAP, PKI) • Deep knowledge of NIST security frameworks, DHS compliance standards, and the RMF process. • Strong documentation, communication, and presentation skills. • AWS Certified Solutions Architect • Professional. • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)/Expert (CCIE). • CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+). • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). • Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) • 10+ years of experience in enterprise IT infrastructure roles, including architecture, design, implementation, and operations. • Experience with Zero Trust architecture, DevSecOps, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Chef.
